I have two daughters attending a district school, and I am committed to supporting student achievement through providing a challenging curriculum and valuable resources:

  1. *Mediocrity is not acceptable

  2. *The district must implement a strategic plan to increase student progress

  3. *It is the responsibility of board directors to research leading school districts and learn from them

  4. *Encouraging administrators to set higher standards for teachers and classrooms will lead to greater achievement

  5. *Each decision needs to be based on what will benefit the student’s education most

Effective Communication:

My degree in Communication Studies has taught me to value and respect the voice of the people and parent involvement.

  1. *Effective communication can be achieved through listening and considering others’ points of view

  2. *In order to understand the needs of the district, I will dedicate my time and energy to interact with community members

  3. *Using up-to-date methods of communication will keep the community better informed

Fiscal Discipline:

As a small business owner, I know the importance of fiscal responsibility and strategic planning:

  1. *Approving an intelligent long-range plan for facilities and growth will lead to more responsible spending

  2. *Fighting to prevent “last-minute decision” fees will save the district unnecessary spending

  3. *Work with community developers to create a welcoming district for families and businesses

  4. *As members of the community, we must insist that tax dollars are effectively used for student learning
